Just a quick shout out to all that came out to the City Creamery for “Ice Cream at Sunset” on March 2nd to help raise money for the Foothills Food Bank. It was a great night. We’d also like to thank the raffle prize donors including the Prickly Pear Inn, Rancho Mañana Golf Club, JH Grass Fed Beef and Mongrel Design Interiors. We look forward to doing it again soon!

It was recently announced that the former Elysian Desert Distilleries has now changed its name to Carefree Spirits Distillery. Renea McQuiggan, President of the company said, “We are very excited to expand our operation in the same town where Carefree Bourbon and Chakra Vodka came to life.”
McQuiggin also stated the company purchased a 1-acre parcel of land in Carefree on Cave Creek Road just South of Tom Darlington. “This parcel is in an amazing location for the company to build the distillery bottling plant, tasting room, gift shop and event center. We believe this will become a distination location as the company expands its production to a national level,” she said. It is anticipated that the new distillery operations could open by the middle of 2022.

The Cave Creek Visitor’s Guide publisher, Dale Samar, has teamed up with Chelsea Flaherty from The City Creamery to help raise money for the Foothills Food Bank on Tuesday, March 2nd from 5 – 7pm. Please come out to support all the businesses in the Prickly Pear Plaza and have some of the best ice cream in the country to help our local food bank! “I’ve been a regular at The City Creamery since they opened so I wanted to make sure everyone in town comes out to enjoy ice cream the way I do,” said Samar. “It’ll be a great evening to sit outside and enjoy the sunset along with some delicious, hand-crafted ice cream in Cave Creek”
